東日本大震災後遊泳が禁止されていた仙台市若林区の深沼海水浴場が１４年ぶりに海開きを迎えた。
深沼海水浴場には家族連れなどが訪れ、泳いだり波打ち際で水遊びをしたりして海を楽しんで、砂浜ににぎやかな声が戻った。
安全確保のため入退場をバーコードで管理し、１日の人数を８００人までに制限するほか、津波発生に備え避難場所も整備した。
