年賀状の発売が11月1日始まり、千葉県市川市の郵便局ではご当地キャラがPRした。
普段市川市の大根の魅力をPRするゆるキャラ「ダイコン爺さん」はこの日１日郵便局長に選ばれた。
ダイコン爺さんの粘り強い呼びかけに、郵便局を訪れた人は次々年賀状を買っていった。
