こどもの日
こどもの日とは、日本における国民の祝日の一つで、5月5日に定められています。
法律による祝日の説明では子供の日は「こどもの人格を重んじ、こどもの幸福をはかるとともに、母に感謝する」という意味で、子供だけでなく母親にも感謝する日です。
5月5日は昔から端午の節句といって男の子の成長を祝う日です。桃の節句という女の子の成長を祝う日は3月3日です。その日は祝日ではありません。
5月5日に男の子のいる家では兜や武者人形を飾り、鯉のぼりを外に立てます。また柏の葉で挟んだ餅や笹に包まれたちまきというお菓子を食べ、菖蒲の葉の入ったお風呂に入ります。
5月5日はゴールデンウィークにあたり、その期間多くの場所でたくさんの鯉のぼりがつるされます。群馬県の館林市は市内で4000もの鯉のぼりが見られます。埼玉県加須市では全長111メートルの巨大鯉のぼりが遊泳します。
ユーチューブでは英語で歌う鯉のぼりの歌も聞くことが出来ます。子供の日を楽しんで下さい。
