桶狭間の戦い
桶狭間の戦いは、1560年6月12日に尾張国知多郡桶狭間で行われた織田信長軍と今川義元軍の合戦です。
2万5千人の大軍を率い尾張に侵攻した駿河の今川義元に対し、戦力2、3千の尾張の織田信長が攻撃し、義元を桶狭間で討ち取りました。
この戦いで駿河の主を失った今川家は没落し、織田信長が台頭します。
後に徳川家康となる今川家の人質だった三河の松平元康も三河に戻り、織田信長と同盟を結びます。
何故少数の織田軍が多数の今川軍に勝てたのかは諸説あります。
大きな理由としては二つあって、一つは戦いが優勢になって油断していたことと、もう一つは土砂降りの雨が降った直後に織田軍が攻め立てて心理的に動揺したことが言われています。
名古屋市緑区や隣の豊明市にも多くの桶狭間の戦いゆかりの場所があります。
また信長が戦いの前に戦勝祈願をした熱田神宮に行くのも勧めます。
