プロ野球・独立リーグ石川ミリオンスターズの県民スペシャル応援デーが行われ、９８歳の女性が日本球界最高齢で始球式に臨んだ。
9日の試合前にひ孫が元選手だったという金沢市在住の近藤美知子さんがマウンドに上がった。
残念ながら彼女の投球はノーバウンドとはいかなかったが、彼女はいい思い出が出来、ミリオンスターズの皆さんに感謝していると語った。
