小豆島にある妖怪美術館が2024年の世相を最も表す妖怪を「米隠し」に決定し、柳生忠平氏による妖怪画も発表した。
「米隠し」について同館は、米不足状況を紹介し「直接的な要因がみえない騒動には妖怪がつきものです。」と説明した。
そのほか、SNSの妖怪「インプレゾンビ」や人気になった曲の妖怪「ブリンバンバン小僧」などがノミネートされ、柳生氏のイラストも公開された。
