和歌山県白浜町のテーマパーク、アドベンチャーワールドは、現在飼育しているジャイアントパンダ4頭すべてを、ことし6月末ごろに中国に返すことが決まったと発表した。
アドベンチャーワールドの今津孝二園長は「24歳の良浜には10頭の子どもを産んでくれてありがとうという思いがあります。中国側の優秀なスタッフのもとでゆっくり過ごしてほしいです。」と語った。
また彼は「30年間培ってきたノウハウを生かし、ジャイアントパンダの繁殖を続けていけるよう、中国側と協議を進めていきたい」と語った。
