日本最大の円墳である奈良市の富雄丸山古墳から国内最大の鉄剣とこれまで出土例がない形の銅鏡が発掘された。
蛇のように曲がりうねった蛇行剣は全長２ｍ３７ｃｍあり、国内最大だという。
また盾の形に作られた銅鏡はこれまでに出土例がない形だということだ。
