能
能は、六百年以上続く独自の様式をもった日本の代表的な古典芸能です。
能は面と美しい装束を用いて専用の能舞台で上演される歌舞劇という特徴があります。
日本版コメディの狂言と合わせた総称を能楽と呼び、ユネスコ無形文化遺産に登録されています。
能の題材は多くは幽霊など異世界のものと人との交流が多いです。楽器は、笛、小鼓、大鼓、太鼓が用いられます。打楽器に合わせて掛け声も使われます。
一見難解に思える能ですが、特に能は神秘的だとして欧州の人達に人気が高いです。夏には野外の能楽堂で夜に薪を使った能が行われ幻想的です。
能楽協会のホームページで一部英語で能を説明しています。英語字幕などの付いた能の動画もユーチューブで多くあります。
鎌倉に能の博物館があります。国立能楽堂では春と秋に文化庁主催の外国人の為の能楽鑑賞教室も行っています。どうぞ能を見て楽しんで下さい。
